Arizona State University Decision Theater
The Decision Theater is the first 3D stereoscopic projection system of its kind for ASU. This system utilizes seven screens, creating a 270° wrap-around viewing environment for immersive, 3D applications. The theater is used for internal research and development, government sponsored projects, and a corporate application where visual 3D modeling and problem solving is required. This system allows for multiple images and applications to be selected and viewed in a variety of unique scenarios. Partnering with Fakespace, a world leader in 3D theater design and development, TPI delivered the Decision Theater as well as two executive meeting spaces.
Ideas
Design, develop, and deliver a stereoscopic theater featuring seven 3-chip DLP projectors, a visualization PC cluster system, and various 3D modeling software applications.
Design, develop, and deliver two executive meeting spaces capable of full-scale audio and video presentations, including audio- and videoconferencing.
Design, develop, and deliver a unique video wall display system for the lobby area, using multiple plasma displays on a unique mounting structure.
Technology
A 3D stereoscopic theater capable of seamless 270° projection, using seven 3-chip DLP projectors and rear projection screens.
A divisible meeting space consisting of two side-by-side rooms, each with various furniture configurations.
An executive meeting space using a drop down rear projection screen (due to space requirements).
A system-wide command and control capability employing a sophisticated control system located in a master control room.
The capability to provide shared media to every viewing location.
